Learn a Piece of Corvallis HistoryWhile dining at Block 15 Restaurant and Brewery, guests can learn about Corvallis history. Corvallis was originally named Marysville but the name was changed in 1853, after confusion with mail being incorrectly delivered to California's Marysville. Block 15 is named for the original 15th block of Marysville, or the former name of Corvallis. The building was built in 1926. It first housed the daily newspaper, the Corvallis Gazette-Times. Several of the beer names make reference to the old printing building. The restaurant and brewery now call the building home. Guests can catch a glimpse of the huge tanks used for fermentation of the beer. Block 15 proudly celebrates its building's history and that of the town of Corvallis. Block 15 also boasts its green decisions, using Blue Sky Renewable Energy to power the facility. The brewery relies on natural gas to power beer production. Block 15 also utilizes a system to reduce water use. With moderately priced meals, discounts at Happy Hour, dishes for everyone, fresh craft beer, and a smoke-free dining environment, Block 15 is an excellent choice for lunch or dinner while visiting Corvallis.
